Soothe your sunburn with Burt's Bees aloe and buttermilk lotion
Filed under: Beauty

San Francisco summers are freezing cold. We usually spend June and July so bundled up that the sun doesn't have a chance to burn any body parts. We must admit: sunscreen is often an afterthought.
Last week we sat through a two hour graduation ceremony in Boston during a heatwave and received a fierce reminder of it's importance: glowing, red, sunburned arms.
This was a bad burn, and Lubriderm wasn't going to cut it, so we headed to Walgreens for aloe vera gel. Luckily we found something even better: Burt's Bees Soothingly Sensitive Aloe & Buttermilk Lotion.
The lotion is light and smooth, with a clean, milkish-powdery scent. As promised by the name, sensitive skin was soothed, and the aloe took the heat out of the burns.
Our burn is now at the peeling stage, and we're can also vouch for the lotion's ability to soothe that itchy, flaky feeling.
We've even been using it on body parts that escaped the scorching rays of the sun, and it turns out this is a nice everyday body lotion, too. Plus the price is right, $8.99 for a biggish bottle, which is way less than we've paid for schmancy body creams, mousses and oils.
