Any excuse for a new ring

Filed under: Accessories, CELEBRITY STYLE, Fashion, Celebrity, News

Lately we've been hearing about "commitment" or "promise" rings for people who want an indication of how serious their relationship is, but don't want to go all diamonds and white taffeta.

This post at Refinery29 is a good example of how people are looking for more creative styles. We've always loved those Zoe Chicco stackable rings, and this pink tourmaline ring by Rajiv Arora would make us say yes in a heartbeat.

Angelina's nutty Gara Danielle snake ring jumps to mind. Even if she doesn't wear it as a commitment ring, she should. Although, knowing Pitt and Jolie, they'll more likely to get rings tattoo'd on like Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Over at AisleDash they have a post with a great gallery of unique rings that break the traditional engagement ring mold, without the permanence of tattoos. Because realistically, divorces happen, and sometimes you decide to sell the ring.

We think these "I love you" rings are a great idea, especially since it gets people away from blood diamonds, which are also such an extravagance in these tight economic times. Save your money for food and rent, and show your love in a more creative, usually less expensive, more personal way!

Plus, "commitment rings" gives those of us already married a chance to ask for a new ring, without seeming too acquisitive. It's always the right time to say I love you with a jewelry box sized present.
