Anti-face violence campaign in full swing
Filed under: News
There's something wrong with Stephen Colbert's face. He suggests it may have happened while he was smashing watermelons with his head or "practicing for a walk-on role in Cirque du Soleil and overestimating the number of French Canadians my forehead would support" -- but regardless, hiding behind the comedian's customary wire-rimmed glasses are a couple of stitches and a bruise that resembles a "map of Norway." But instead of canceling a few episodes or covering the injury with make-up, the faux pundit has instead embarked on a campaign against the Hollywood glamorization of "face violence."
This mimics the very successful campaign he started after a previous mishap (he fell on the set and suffered a broken wrist). That initiative against "wrist violence" (which, incidentally, produced some hysterical "WristStrong" bracelets), was an enormous success, so we can only imagine that this latest effort will yield similar results.
Because if there's one thing we fashionistas can get behind, it's a scar-free face. So, lovely readers, stand up and be counted -- it's time to put an end to "face violence" once and for all!
