American Apparel pays homage to Hypercolor

Filed under: Fashion, Best of the Season

Last month, we told you guys about an underwear company who was making heat-sensitive underwear -- meaning they change colors when friction occurs due to a special dye they've been treated with. Yeah, you can draw your own conclusions.

Now we want to shed light on another brand who's aiming to show its love for 90s favorite, Hypercolor, in a less freaky way.

American Apparel has just added a sheer thermochromatic t-shirt to its online store that comes in dreamy pastel colors like blue, green, and vermillion. According to the company, a black version will make its debut sometime in the near future.

Meanwhile, anyone planning on dropping the $34 it takes to purchase the moody tee should heed this warning: If you attempt to dry this particular piece on a very high temperature, the t-shirt will be color changing no more; just a weird tribute to the last person who placed their hands on you.
