Children's fashion week? Dubai is weird

We're not sure if there's actually anything wrong with having a Children's Fashion Week, but something about it seems a little unsettling. As Dubai continues to blossom into the center of damn near everything rich people do -- including designer hotels and indoor skiing -- we find ourselves wondering if the city's latest invention is really in good taste. More importantly, will Kids Fashion Week wreak as much havoc on the human spirit as beauty pageants do? We seriously hope not.

At Dubai's 6th annual Kids Fashion Week, children in the Dubai area will be strutting down the catwalk in styles by some of the "biggest names in children's fashion." You know: Diesel, Moschino, Bennetton -- stuff that kids are into. Something about getting children involved in a multi-day fashion event just seems kinda odd -- like it's a little too much like pimping your kids out to the fashion industry. Do we want kids to be obsessed with designer fashion? Is that healthy?
