The Gossip is all about the clothes

If you went with Option 4, you're not alone. According to recent article in the New York Times, the show "is one of the biggest influences on how young women spend." Much like Sex and the City, Gossip Girl has influenced not only how women dress, but the path designers are taking in their fall lines -- elements of the prep school uniform (with an edge) can be seen in lines by Marc Jacobs and Henry Holland.
The show's costume designer, Eric Daman (who has worked with Patricia Field), says that they "tried to launch trends from the get-go." Fans tend to go for either Serena's laid-back flair or Blair's prim and ruffly style, but whichever way they lean, there's no doubting the show has had an enormous impact on the fashion industry. Just wait for back-to-school shopping this year!

Yep, I have bought colored tights and head bands because of that damn show. and unfortunately I think I'm the only person in Chile who watches because I'm certainly the only one who wears bright pink tights.
