Project Runway season five premier
Filed under: Fashion, News, Designers & Brands
In what only could be considered a final salute to the times the PR crew shared over at Bravo, the contestants first challenge centered around NYC supermarket Gristede's, just like in season one. If you can remember, this is where Austin Scarlett bought the corn husks to create his now infamous dress. Fittingly, the producers enlisted the help of the sweet talker to help judge this first competition.
However, unlike the people from Austin's season, these new scrubs weren't as creative with their grocery purchases. In fact, most of them punked-out and used tablecloths as fabric. But Tim Gunn quickly got on to them about their lameness.
In our gallery, get caught up on the rest of the delicious madness that took place last night.

This is possibly the most boring mix of designers ever assembled for Project Runway, both design-wise and personality-wise. I'm kind of dreading what the rest of the season will bring based on last night's episode.

First off, PR is one of the best reality shows so I'm excited it's back for the summer.
It does appear that this year there seems to be some "forced personalities" which I hope doesn't ruin the show.
I like Jennifer and hopes she wins. I have her in my last 2 game too. Anyone playing this season?

I have to somewhat disagree w/ above: to me, the group from 2006 (season 2?) were the most boring and least accomplished/talented designers that I can recall thus far -- we'll have to see where the rest of season five goes. But in watching re-runs of 2006, that group totally sucked compared to Seasons 3 & 4 especially.
