The beauty industry's new muse

Celebrities may not be clocking the major fashion advertisements like they use to (Hello, supermodels!), but they're making up for it with beauty campaigns.

A couple of weeks ago, Revlon announced Jennifer Connelly would be its new brand ambassador. Basically, this means she'll be supplied with an enviable amount of mascara and nail polish for the next few years. Oh yeah, she gets a big fat paycheck for doing so, too.

And just a few days ago, Condé Nast announced that British soul songstress, Duffy, would be the face of an exclusive new Nivea ad campaign. The ads will only run in Fashion Rocks, a super-glossy 16 page supplement that explores the relationship between fashion and music.

Duffy will also be performing alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Mariah Carey in the Fashion Rocks special on CBS that airs on September 9th. Meanwhile, if you haven't picked-up Duffy's debut album Rockberry, then you must get on it. The ten track disc is full of beautiful love songs that are not the least bit cheesy and are made even better because of Duffy raspy voice.
