Secret Obsession: The banned Eva Mendes ad (NSFWish)
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Fragrance, Beauty, Celebrity, News, Makeup
The following commercial was banned from television and may not be suitable for work:
(Click here to see still shots from the ad campaign)
Eva Mendes seems to be everywhere lately, and almost always naked. We aren't complaining.
The above video (assuming that YouTube hasn't pulled it for boob-related reasons) is an ad for Calvin Klein's latest fragrance for women, Secret Obsession. It was banned from television due to some finding it a bit steamy- and nipply.
We are not really clear as to why Calvin Klein wanted to go with a nude Eva Mendes for their ad campaign rather than our suggested line, Secret Obsession: was strong enough for a man in the late 80s, but made for a woman. Too much?
We can't give Calvin Klein too hard of a time about the name, as a) we are big fans of recycling and sustainable products- even names, and b) we've never actually had a chance to experience the scent of Secret Obsession, and perhaps it is just that and couldn't possibly be named otherwise.
Regardless, we got to see more Eva Mendes (and more of her), so we're fans. We're artsy like that.
Keep on keeping on, Calvin Klein.

Ummm...I think we say more with the Miley Cirus photos...lol...and Miley is underage. Eva looks beautiful in this ad...it's not too racy. She is of age and looking smokin' hot. What's wrong with these people?!?!?!? Are they bible thumpers or something? Show the ad after 9 and the american people should be fine.

This is really bad , America is loosing , it is far better to flash pictures of hundred of peoples blowned in pieces in a bloody mess in Iraq or the bodies of dead children after a stampede .....but flahing a nipple in a 1/200 of of a second , this is really bad ....HYPOCRYTES .

As responsible, conservative parents we have to sensor the shows that our children watch. But when racy commercials come on so suddenly it has just ruinned that protection. Children grow up to quickly. We need to guide their sensetive minds with love and morals, not sex and immorality.

their job is to place ads, not worrying about what your kids are watching. thats your job and you should be controling what your kids watch, not the companys making ads, movies or tv shows.

Tere... are you drunk? "as responsible, conservative parents"... who said i'm conservative? and who says conservative is the right way to be? that's why our kids are so rebellious and get in trouble with stupid crap, because they're so damn SHELTERED. why are we so worried about seeing a nipple on a commercial?? your kids are never going to see a nipple?? teach your kids about their bodies early, and that it's not something to be ashamed of or embarassed about, and they won't think it's such a big deal!!!! CHRIST PEOPLE... give me a break.

so you equal Sex with immorality? So that must mean that you are immoral since you must've had Sex in order to have those children unless they were adopted. And besides... it was a flash of a nipple people. you can see worse walking out of your house and just looking around. Get the blinders off breasts are not just used for play during Sex. They are also a source of food for infants.... or have we as a society forgotten that??? formula wasn't always around and how do you like your ancestors were fed?
It's not like there was anything graphic about the ad. It could have been worse. matter of fact your kids will probably see things more graphic than that in school or on the internet. wake up and teach your children right from wrong and they will turn out just fine. but DON'T fill their heads with your issues and your insecurities. work on them yourself and don't pass them on.

wow don't you sound a little uptight

my children were exposed to breasts very early on - they loved them - it was thier only source of food. get over it America.

dude come on if janet jackson could not be shown during a football game granted kids watch but a "man'y" mans sport. there is no way her nipple in a perfume ad is going to fly either for the fcc. no nipples on tv read fcc doc.s that would have created a nasty lil mess atleast eva wont be blacklisted. its just banned big deal she still got paid and we are still watching it so.........

this ad was probably "banned" just to create more hype about the product. its all a marketing ploy!

Banning something like this is so ridiculous. America is still run by the Puritans who are not mature enough to handle reality and the truth. Grow up!
