Mnkr Clothes: What's so funny about peace, love and t-shirts?
Filed under: Accessories, Fashion, News, Best of the Season, Stylish Living
Straight from Supermarket comes Mnkr Clothes, an independent maker of "stuff."
The stuff we're focusing on consists mainly of conscience and t-shirts.
From the Mknr Clothes store profile: "Mnkr is Matt & Kandy. We hand-screen a bunch of stuff on different things. All of our stuff is printed with softer, cleaner water-based inks. Our lines usually include at least one something stupid, something meaningful, silly, boring, honest, and inspirational. We're big on customer service. We love to make people happy, and hopefully it shows in what we do. A lot of our inspiration comes from the incredible man behind our service mark, the late great, Mohandas Gandhi. We're doing what we love, and love what we're doing...thanks to you."
You read that right. Gandhi. How many independent makers of stuff do you know of that are inspired by Gandhi? Not many. We can't say for sure that Gandhi would wear these t-shirts, but with themes of peace and environment he'd probably dig them.
Whit Honea is a slacker, a borderline degenerate, and a daydream believer. He's also our resident expert on casual chic. If it's comfortable, and not heinous, he's all over it. He's quite charming, really.
