Ah, the Gap. We fell into you so long ago that we've forgotten what it was like to be free of your charms. We can scarcely recall life before you- there was a crowd and a food court and rows of glass doors that led to a warm place with a bright orange light in the sky. We don't miss it.

That's why when it was time to dress our family in corduroy and denim for the start of the school year we took our spawn to yours: GapKids.


The Gap has had its ups and downs over the past few years, but we've never been anything but impressed with the classic yet hip, studious yet playful fashions that GapKids (and babyGap) consistently offer.

Not only does the Gap carry a great selection of its own brand for your back to school (or first time to school) needs, but they have also opened up their shelves to outside brands that accessorize well, like Converse.

If you've got a child getting ready for the school year you'll find what you need at the Gap- which, we just discovered, does have another way out should you fall into it. (Yes, we're aware that "Fall into the Gap" is old school, but if you're buying clothes for children you're most likely right there with us.).
