Latex Pants at Any Age?
Forget skinny jeans, the new pant now is...wait for it...latex leggings. Hollywood of all ages has already been spotted in the trend and fashionistas from NYC to Paris are trying to get their hands on a pair because, believe it or not, they trim inches! In the StyleList office, we decided latex can work since they suck everything in and smooth the lumps and bumps - and look damn sexy in the process. BUT, is latex a woman's friend at any age? We present the evidence.

"Usually leggings look most flattering when worn with a tunic top or a T-shirt that is a little oversized," says Hersh. "I think a pop of color on top or a pattern like a stripe tee or flannel plaid shirt also looks right on trend." Ashley's Kova & T latex pants anchor her all black ensemble but she breaks up her monochrome look with a flowy tee.

"Latex leggings can be a girl's best friend," explains Shop Intuition's owner Jaye Hersh. "Most anyone can wear these as they camouflage imperfections." However, only SJP could get away with layering on, not one, but two coats with her Rag & Bone pants. To avoid the heat factor of plastic, follow Sarah's lead and go for skin-tight stretch leather pants to mimic the look of latex.

Biker chic! While Rihanna can get away with her head-to-toe rock 'n roll look, this may not translate well in real life. Try breaking up an all black look with different textures, a pop of color and add volume on top with a jacket in order to balance out skintight pants.

We had to ask Hersh - can someone who isn't 20 wear this look? Her answer: "Yes. We're selling these leggings to women of all ages," confesses Hersh (whose L.A. store caters to A-list stars). Anyone with supermodel genes and a bod like Heidi should feel free to wear these pants well into their 30s...and beyond.

Victoria Beckham, 33
A fan of anything tight, Posh even runs errands in latex! Would it still work if you're not as svelte as the skinniest Spice Girl? "These pants are flattering because the fabric has the perfect combination of stretch that works on almost every body type," says Hersh. "It's all about the fabric weight, texture and, of course, black is always flattering."

Natalia Vodianova, 26
One of Vogue's favorite models Natalia celebrates at the Kova & T launch party in November 2007 wearing...what else...Kova & T! The girls behind this fetish-y label, Daria Zhukova and Kristina Tang, started the line to rebel against the over-styled, embellished jeans flooding the market. "I couldn't find a pair of jeans the way I wanted it," says Daria explaining how slick latex became an inspiration.

Mary-Kate Olsen, 21
It's no surprise that MK loves this trend. Known for taking style risks, she pulls this look off without a hitch. A fun, feathered white clutch and cut-out pumps add serious drama to her ensemble. Her look is proof that you don't have to shy away from edgy accessories when donning plastic leggings.

Lauren Hutton, 64
Hutton rocks latex pants and she's 64! That's no typo, she's really 64. No wonder the former model is a fashion-inspiration to the Olsen twins. Hutton modeled for their high-end fashion label The Row and will be featured in their upcoming coffee table book, Influence, where the Olsens pay homage to their style inspirations.

Mischa Barton, 22
Who got the latex look right? "Mary-Kate and Ashley, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, and Vanessa Hudgens," says Hersh. "Each celeb brings their own style and were the first to start this trend." (In other words...if you're 22, go for it!) Here's a style tip: Because the pants are so tight, heels, rather than Mischa's flats, are more flattering since they will elongate legs.
