American Apparel did a swimsuit commercial

Back in July, Dov and his pervvy minions put on a blowout Independence Day sale called Operation Freedom. While we did catch the news about the ultra-low prices in time -- we somehow missed the accompanying commercial.

Now, thanks to the watchful eyes over at Copyranter, we find out that a poorly produced Operation Freedom commercial had been released, and it seems to sum up American Apparel's controversial advertising strategy: soft-core porn.

Since it's still swimsuit season, we think the video's pretty relevant. Not that the video quality is good enough to make out the details of the suits, but you get the idea. Although we can't always get on board with AA's over-sexed style, we actually do think that this video is the kind of stuff they should be doing.

Whether you like swimwear, squirt guns, and freedom or you just feel like subjecting yourself to some gratuitous T&A closeups -- this is a halfway decent promo. It's pretty harmless. We're not sure who produced this video, or if it aired anywhere else besides YouTube, but if not, they should consider sending it to Skinemax.
