Celebrity Fashion Mistakes June 2008

It's rare to see celebrities looking less than perfect, but it happens -- and we've got the proof! Designer Bradley Bayou shows us how even celebrities can choose the wrong outfit for their body type, and how you can learn from their mistakes.

    CATE BLANCHETT: THE WRONG LOOK
This is a perfect example of a wrap dress gone bad. The fabric drapes around Cate's hips, shoulders and waist, completely hiding her slender figure. Plus, the sleeves are too long and the shiny fabric adds volume. Not so great, Cate!

    CATE BLANCHETT: THE RIGHT LOOK
The straps of this cocktail dress draw the eye up and extend Cate's shoulders while the cinched waist and pleated skirt complete the illusion of an hourglass figure. The skirt hits just below the knee and shows off the curves of her lower legs -- sexy and sophisticated!

    GWYNETH PALTROW: THE WRONG LOOK
Gwyneth is a tall, slender inverted triangle, so her challenge is for her hips to match her shoulders. The shoulder detail and draping fabric of this Grecian dress make her shoulders look broader, while the tapering off of fabric at the hips make her lower half seem even slimmer -- the opposite of the desired effect.

    GWYNETH PALTROW: THE RIGHT LOOK
The heavy fabric of this dress gives volume to Gwyneth's bottom half. Another great detail that adds shape is the belt, which pulls in her waist and creates a full skirt. A subtle U-shaped neckline draws attention away from her shoulders, perfectly balancing her inverted triangle shape.

    KIM CATTRALL: THE WRONG LOOK
Want to draw attention to your shoulders? Wear a one-shouldered dress. Unfortunately, this design detail broadens Kim's upper half, giving her the appearance of an inverted triangle. The color is beautiful on her, but the draped fabric disguises her hourglass figure, and the poufy skirt chops off her legs.

    KIM CATTRALL: THE RIGHT LOOK
What a difference! The beaded neck detail on this elegant gown draws the eye up to Kim's radiant face, and the halter shows off just the right amount of skin to balance the length of the gown. The clingy fabric accentuates her curves while the trumpet skirt emphasizes her hourglass figure -- she looks great!

    LINDSAY LOHAN: THE WRONG LOOK
Lindsey needs to create the illusion of a waist to balance her already proportionate shoulders and hips. The long corset in this busy dress elongates her torso, intensifying her rectangular shape. The wide white straps draw the eye up and down her straight silhouette, and the bubble skirt starts too low to create an hourglass shape.

    LINDSAY LOHAN: THE RIGHT LOOK
When Lindsay gets it right, she looks gorgeous! Here, the dark belt defines her waist and the skirt releases over her hips, adding volume to her otherwise straight silhouette. The short, flirty hem is perfectly balanced by the strapless top. Fresh, light makeup and straight, wispy hair is a great look for summer.

    EVA LONGORIA: THE WRONG LOOK
Eva, a short petite triangle, loses all her proportions in this outfit. The shapeless dress is too long and overwhelms her petite frame. The scale of the shoe, along with its metallic shine, pulls attention away from her face and down to the floor.
