Tip of the day: Be a madhatter this fall

Filed under: Fashion, How to Wear

As much as we hate to admit, fall is around the corner and we have to start thinking about hats. Though we aren't a huge fan of the cold, it does mean that we can sport these cute, classic hats for a few seasons.

Though each of these styles has definitely seen their fair share of "trendy" times, they have risen above as the cream on top and have stayed classic hat icons for decades now.

Here's a little info on each, how to wear it, and a few examples to get you started.

The Beret
The Beret reminds us of a cool, artist type...or Jackie from that 70's show. No matter. They are a great hat to wear if you have unruly bangs or just want to feel artsy for the day

The Cloche
In French, the word 'cloche' means 'bell,' perfect for this womanly cap that is reminiscent of an ultra feminine era – the 1920's. There are many that are still completely chic but updated for modern times.

The Fedora
This hat creates angles for those that are lacking. It is a very Gang's of New York/Nicole Richie/Steven Tyler look depending on which way you take it.

The Riding Cap
Unsure of which hat will look best? Go with the riding cap. They flatter nearly every face shape.

If you want these hats to last year after year, get them in a classic hue that will never go out of style. So yes, put down that hot pink fedora you saw Britney wearing last week and get the black one instead you geek.

As a quick tip, nearly all hats look better when worn with a title. We don't mean it needs to have a gansta lean, it just needs a little sway to one side to really update and flatter.

Happy hatting!
