DKNY to make over food distribution vans
Filed under: Fashion, News, Stylish Living

DKNY is doing a little charity work. No, the label isn't stylishly dressing starving bloggers (although, Donna? That would be a good one!) -- instead, they are making over 15 food distribution vans for City Harvest.
Hey, a makeover is a makeover, and we loooove a makeover (and a good cause).
Anyway, the vans will be decked out in green, purple, cobalt, and teal -- DKNY's autumn/winter palette, natch -- so homeless New Yorkers' food will be delivered in style. We're not entirely sure how fancy vans benefit the homeless -- seems like they would probably rather have something like, you know, more food, but we're going to give DKNY the benefit of the doubt. After all, this isn't the only act of charity on the agenda.
DKNY is planning a launch of a Make a Wish necklace in NY DKNY stores, and earlier this year, they chained a bunch of flourescent orange bikes around the city to encourage people to use cycling for transportation. Of course, that didn't go over all that well since it was so similar to the all-white Ghost Bikes memorials also seen in the city.
We're just sayin', perhaps the label needs someone new on its charitable outreach team.
