We love all of the amazing independent designers out there. In order to find out more about just what makes all of these creative types tick, we present to you an ongoing segment called Indie Designer Interviews.

We'd like you to meet Diana Rajchel, owner of Magickal Realism Natural Perfumery. Diana creates all-natural fragrances in addition to massage oils and conditioning oils for your hair, and bath milks and soaking salts.

Tell us a little about yourself and your work. I'm Diana Rajchel, I live in the Twin Cities with a robot and my boyfriend and I design all-natural perfume. I also run a blog on plus size fashion called Fat Chic.

How did you get started as a designer? A couple of essential oils, a Friday night with nothing to do...and I came out smelling really good.

Any advice you would give to aspiring entrepreneurs? Be patient with yourself, be patient with others and always learn more. No matter how expert you are in your field, there is more to know, more to experiment with and more to discover.

What inspires your work? My sense of humor - I think I may be the only humorist perfumers on the market. I think laughter is the most beautiful thing in the world, and someday I hope to actually bottle it.

Who are your favorite designers? Oh wow, so many - I'm particularly fond of the designers at FashionOverdose.com, but I'm also enamored with SecretLentil on Etsy.

What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? Hm, this season? A vest. I. Must. Have. Vest. I am also seeking knee boots that actually fit me, but my calves are gargantuan and put me in EEEE width.

My personal style takes elements of punk and menswear and adds feminine accents - usually in the shoes.

Also, this time of year I like to wear my Book Dust fragrance, a tinted lip balm from BunnyButtApothecary and I firmly believe that an outfit can be saved by exactly the right pair of shoes - and that this can be done with a finite shoe wardrobe.
