United Bamboo has been one of the reliable and anticipated men's wear shows in the program at New York Fashion Week. Rather than wait for Saturday, September 6, 2008, for the newest looks by designers Miho Aoki and Thuy Pham, our spies sent along this Spring Summer 2009 preview, shown above.

United Bamboo takes updated Americana and gives it a design spin with Japanese sensibility. Here we see some straight forward looks but the garments, true to UB's rep, usually feature some type of oddity or unique spin, especially for outerwear.

It's the type of design garments that beg to be handled, worn and explored to discover their true potential. United Bamboo takes its name from a society of Japanese gangsters, so expect a residual toughness and attitude outside the norm.
