Though it's a very good observation Sherlock, shaving does not make hair come in thicker, wider, or darker.

Let's rewind. Hair is wider at the base than at the tip. So when you shave, you are cutting it off mid-point, exposing the wider end. Hence, the wider, darker appearance.

"Stubbles" often feel like they are wider than the hair we've just shaved because they are coarse to the touch and stick out like a sore thumb against those with paler skin. But let it be known that shaving does not alter the width, thickness or color of your hair.
