Tip of the day: Celebrity travel tips
Filed under: Style Tip of the Day, Fashion, How to Wear
Ever wondered how that flight to Miami on American Airlines turned you into a crusty, dry specimen before you even stepped foot on South Beach? What the hell?! We thought everyone looked as fresh as a celebrity when they stepped off of a flight. Well if you want to look like a well-rested, well-moisturized star when you reach your destination, you have to work for it. A little bit. And then sleep. A lot.
Here are a few in-flight tips to will have you looking radiant once you hit the dock.
Altitude and the recycled plane air is completely drying on body, hair and skin. Therefore:
• Pound drinks. No not those kind! Water only please! And skip the salty foods too.
• Moisturize every hour. If the airport won't allow it in your carry on, splash your face with water every hour.
• Don't use hot tools on hair. Instead, apply a smoothing cream and conditioner and leave it at that.
• Sleep the rest of the time. Score!
• Go makeup free. Wear a tinted moisturizer and apply a sheer gloss right before your hop off the plane.

My beauty blog is all about this topic. I'm an esthetician & former flight attendant, I know how to stay pretty while flying!

P.S. Don't splash plain H20 on your face, use something like Dermalogica's multi-active toner, they make it in a mini travel size. H20 on the face will just evaporate and take you skin's own moisture with it. Spray this hydrating toner on & follow with a moisturizer containing SPF to combat the strong rays you encounter high above the clouds!

If you want to arrive at your destination and have your hair look like you just had it done then travel with a satin travel pillow. I found the most outrageous site for trendy travel pillows. The website is http://www.atouchofsatin.com Satin is so much better for your hair and skin than cotton. Cotton pulls the moisture out of your hair and scalp, causing split ends and frizzies. The A Touch Of Satin travel pillows feel like down and are completely washable and so is the satin pillowcase that comes with it. Travel like your a celebrity and feel so good doing it!
