Model for a Day - Spiegel Reality Dressing, Playing Dress Up
Filed under: Fashion, News, Best of the Season
This is the third part of my Model for a Day series in which I share with you my experience as a model for the Spiegel Reality Dressing photoshoot in New York City. You want behind the scenes? You've got it!Once hair and makeup was finished, I just had to get dressed ... which wasn't as simple as I expected. The outfits were selected for us, so it's not like I had to choose anything, but I had figured that they would have all of the items in a few different sizes. That was not exactly the case.
Most of the items were in my size, or at least close, but let me tell you -- there is a bit of cutting and pinning involved in these shoots to make sure everything looks just perfect. And while the outfits were put together, the stylists on set still had a bit of leeway with accessories. I had a lot of fun tossing ideas around with them about whether this bangle or these earrings would be the best choice. I don't know if they really took my opinion to heart, but they were all willing to hear me out, anyway.
A lot of the outfits I wore had pieces I would wear on my own. A couple, not so much, but I am apparently right on trend in terms of colors I'm digging. Check the gallery -- I start with a picture in one of my own outfits in NYC, with colors that would fit right in at the shoot!
So, once I was dressed in my first outfit, you can guess what came next -- it was time to strut my stuff in front of the camera, baby! And man, was I ready!
