Book review: Gigi Garner's Girl Talk
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Fashion, Celebrity, Stylish Living
Gigi Garner (daughter of the very beloved James Garner) has done some interesting things in her life.
She's been a private investigator, like Jim Rockford, actress, board certified cosmetologist, jewelry designer and the author of the The Cop Cookbook, with 300 recipes from actors who played cops on TV and in the movies.
With a background like that, you can imagine that she has a few tips and tricks to share with the girls. Girl Talk - Celebrities and Other Extraordinary Women Share Their Secrets is a collection of Gigi's best advice, plus thoughts and suggestions from other women, including some of her famous friends.
And what friends she has! Jamie Lee Curtis provides the recipe for her famous Caesar Salad, which she says is "more famous than her chest!" in some circles. Joan Rivers shares child-rearing techniques, and Sally Struthers reveals how she remembers people's names. Other names you'll recognize include Naomi Judd, Rona Barret and Shari Belafonte.
It's a fun, quick read book that is a lot like hanging out in the kitchen at a big, mixed generation party. Topics include food, career, clothes (some great tips on stain removal!) pets, travel, you name it. And for us celebrity hounds, it's fun to see Gigi's personal shots with her dad and old friend Jamie Lee.
Gigi's idea goes beyond the book, with a website for you to share your best ideas on almost any subject. Check out her site Girl Talk for more info.
