The Little Black BoxDo you love surprises in the mail and unwrapping tons of gifts? Or maybe you just want to help support more small businesses, but the thought of where to start seems overwhelming. In either case, you might want to give The Little Black Box a try.

This monthly treat is filled with goodies of all shapes and sizes from small businesses and independent designers. It's the ultimate swag bag, and we were lucky enough to snag one of this month's bags for review.

As soon as we opened the package, the luscious smells of cinnamon hit our nostrils. The warm, autumnal fragrance was coming from a full-size bar of Apple Jack scented handmade soap by Karess Krafters. There was also an amazingly relaxing bath bag from SoapWerks. Filled with lemon balm, peppermint, calendula and lavender, you'll want to immediately run to the tub for a hot soak once you smell it, we promise. There were even more yummy smells wafting from the candle tarts by Kreations by Kathie.

The Little Black Box - filled with handmade goodies by independent artists! We were stunned by the sheer amount of cool jewelry found in The Little Black Box. The first thing we found was the perfect pair of simple sterling silver stud earrings, handmade by Canadian Rockies Art (they were kind enough to include a 25% off coupon for a future purchase - actually, a majority of the products also came with coupons good for future purchases from the participating designers). There were so many pairs of awesome earrings: a set made with freshwater pearls from Estancia Designs, cute as a button earrings from Pasketti, and some very pretty dangle earrings made from jasper and sterling silver by jaC Jewelry.

We absolutely loved the awesome greeting cards made from recycled paper from artist Patty Mara Gourley. Her original artwork totally won our hearts. The felt floppy disk coaster from The Geekery put an instant smile on our face (we're thinking it's the perfect gift for that boyfriend or co-worker who never leaves their computer desk, not even to eat).

There were just so many adorable things to be found here: a sweet bird magnet from Daisy Mae Designs and an adorable bunny ponytail holder from Dream Mist Crafts; a super duper cute owl pendant and mini-notecards from BeeDazzles and plenty of seasonal Halloween goodies from Sassy Cat, Midnight Creations and Simply Sentimental.

The Little Black Box is one of those things that just makes your day a little brighter. It's so much fun to look through everything that it's almost like Christmas morning, with so many treats all wrapped up so nicely! There are so many goodies that you just can't help but want to share the joy with your friends and co-workers; it's really fun to sort through everything and decide who you'd like to give a little gift to. (Although we admit, we're tempted just to keep everything for ourselves!)

A limited number of Little Black Boxes is created each month, and the price varies slightly depending on how many treats go into each month's box. No matter what though, it's always a steal. (The current box goes for $23 which includes shipping and tracking via USPS Priority Mail.) Considering all of the goodies and gift ideas in each box, it's totally worth the price tag! You can order your own at The Little Black Box.
