And the debate winner is...the genius who made "That One" t-shirts
Filed under: Fashion, News, Best of the Season, Stylish Living

Many people watching the debate last night were surprised to see John McCain jerk at thumb at Obama and refer to his democratic rival as "That One". Post-debate the analysts are still trying to figure out if McCain meant it as a pejorative, if he forgot Obama's name and awkwardly tried to cover a senior moment, or if it was simply another of the (many) wince-worthy jokes that McCain scattered through his performance.
However McCain meant it, someone is going to make a mint off the idea. The New York Times reports that an internet genius already nabbed the url thatone08.com, posted a rewritten bio of Obama replacing every instance of his name with "That One" and created a selection of t-shirts which you can buy from the site. This mystery person even created a Facebook page for "That One"!
Whoever you vote for in the presidential election, you have to admire the good old American entrepreneurship of the person who got all of this done in less than 24 hours! In the gallery, check out his -- or her -- t-shirt design skills.

I admire his/her quick acting. I thought I was being swift by creating t-shirts before 3am, but he had a domain and facebook page up and running by the time I blew the dust off Photoshop.
T-shirts and merchandise I created with That One '08 logo:

And while I admire their speed to market there is something to be said for taste and design. That's why I prefer the "That One" shirts and merchandise here:

I hope that some of the profits are going towards the O.B. '08 campaign! :-)

It's all well and good to create these cool designs, but are any of the designers sending a percentage of the proceeds to support the Obama campaign?

I agree. How about 5% going to the campaign? Even THAT might entice me to slap a sticker on my car.
Creative + greedy = shitty.

The best part about this is that the creator is actually a republican trying to make a buck off of the Obama maniacs. Gotta love America. Hilarious.

No...the best part is that the more people who display "That One" will show support and help to defeat "No Won"!

a little more "direct" approach to political wearables here.... with part of the proceeds going to planned parenthood in you-know-who's name, of course...
