Hooker makeovers

Tracy Clark-Flory of Salon.com has some interesting news for you.
Apparently, Dutch authorities are encouraging prostitutes get out of the sex industry by offering incentives like designer clothing and furniture. Oh, that's so great--wait. WTF?
Isn't that why a lot of young women get into the sex industry? We've all read about those high-class prostitutes who are better paid than *cough* bloggers and other writers *cough* *cough* and a designer dress probably isn't going to entice any of them to quit their livelihoods.
The only possible targets of this "Whore Miles" scheme are the lower class prostitutes, who, while we'd love to see them rescued from their life of crime, probably need job training, housing, and protection a lot more than they need a set of Dutch nesting tables.
We think perhaps they just want the hookers on the street to dress a little better. If so, this is an ingenious plan.

Women, who trade sex for designer clothing and material possessions? That's been around for thousands of years already! It's called marriage!
