Obama or McCain - Support your candidate with Hidalgo name rings

Filed under: Accessories, Fashion, News, Stylish Living

We've always been intrigued by Hidalgo stackable rings, even if they are a trifle ornate to wear with our daily blogging attire of sweats and bunny slippers. But their latest design might be the final blow to our stubborn resistance: Obama and McCain name rings.

Keep your t-shirts and bumper-stickers, this is the ultimate proof of one's party loyalty, running from $1,350 to $1,375. And what's one Hildalgo ring without a couple of gold and diamond guard rings to "round out" the look? So add on another $1,400 to complete your political jewelry ensemble.

But who's the real target market?

We can't exactly see Michelle Obama wearing the fancy enamel, gold and diamond combo, if only because we can imagine her doing normal household things, like dishes or feeding the dog. You know, regular household maintenance stuff that totally wrecks your nails, never mind these pricey rings.

On the other hand, it's all too easy to picture crisp-faced Cindy McCain issuing orders to the staff at one of her 12 houses, two or three of the McCain glitter-bombs flashing as she gestures imperiously with her birdish digits.

And why would -- or should -- she stop at just a couple of McCain rings? In the gallery, we have suggestions for a whole handful of the pretty stackers that would be perfect for Cindy.
