DEX New York's line of mineral makeup

I recently had the opportunity to get made up by Catalina Ceballos, a makeup artist and teacher at DEX New York, a salon frequented by Tyra Banks and Posh (Victoria Beckham). This is me before, rockin' my pink hair for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.Catalina took off all my makeup except my eyeliner, which she liked (it's a dark brown Lancome shadow applied with water). She trimmed my eyebrows, and brushed on a special shade of Tinted Hydrator, SPF 20, which she created for me by blending two shades. DEX New York's Tinted Hydrator has ginkgo biloba and ginseng to increase circulation.
Catalina then applied loose and pressed powder, again using two shades blended with a kabuki brush. She used a mineral illuminator auto-pen on my undereye circles over the powder.
Then came the color. Read on to see the "after" picture and see what she used on me! Also note: Most of the products she used are available on the DEX New York website.

Catalina applied three glittering eyeshadow powders to my lids. First, she swooped a gold all the way up to my brows, and brushed a burnt orange sparkle across my lid and in the crease. Lastly, she took a brilliant purple (appropriately called St. Mark's Place) and applied it just along my lash line. The color combination really made my eyes pop.
Next, she swept a shimmery blush in Lolita on my cheeks, complimenting it with bronzer. It warmed up my skin tone.
She finished me with a Grand Street Lip Varnish, which comes in a handy click-pen with a brush as the tip. The varnish made my lips feel great. And there's the result!
Catalina, as I mentioned, is also a teacher. Forget pottery classes; DEX New York offers makeup classes for people interested in becoming makeup artists, and also just people interested in makeup. Give the salon a call at 212-643-3188 to hear what they're offering!
