Heir to Hermes fortune shows his rowdy side

Filed under: Style in the News, News

Just because you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, doesn't mean you were born with manners. Case in point: 37-year-old Mathias Guerrand-Hermes, heir to the uber-luxurious Hermes empire. The "socialite" and "polo player" is charged with assaulting an Air France captain during a transatlantic flight from Paris to New York. This wasn't your genteel variety of assault either. It was a knock down, drag out, crotch grabbing, punch throwing affair. According to witnesses, Guerrand-Hermes came to blows with the pilot after he was asked by the staff to remain in his seat. He refused and had to be dragged to another seat, where the cabin crew handcuffed and shackled him to a seat for the rest of the flight.

Not surprisingly, he had taken an aspirin like drug called Propofan which he followed with "quite a bit" of alcohol during the flight. The pilot isn't the only one he bumped heads with. Guerrand-Hermes, who is married, allegedly hit on a fellow first class passenger who turned him down, then woke her sleeping husband to confront Hermes.

Classy, Mathias, very classy.
