Princess Tiana of Disney's upcoming The Princess and the Frog is black!
Good work, Disney. We're so pleased, we're not even going to chide you for taking so long. Best of all? The story's not about the fact that she's black. That would offend us.
She's just a Disney princess who happens to be black, and it looks like she's going to have to kiss a few frogs before she finds her prince (just like the rest of us).
Princess Tiana will be voiced by Tony winner Anika Noni Rose, who can like, totally sing. The movie is set in an idyllic New Orleans, and looks like a return to the classic Disney style we all love. No word yet on whether one of her parents is dead.

That is great and I will have to add it to my future children's library. I saw Anika Noni Rose in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She is as lovely as she is talented.
