Sarah Palin's contagious up do
Filed under: Cuts & Style, Hair, Celebrity, Hot or Not
At the end of last week we saw Katie Couric's hair done up in a Hockey-mom-esque twist, and we knew our deepest fears had been confirmed. The Palin Up Do Effect is in full force, viscerally felt in hair salons across the nation.
Many things are contagious -- colds, verbal tics, a love of Gossip Girl. But we'd hoped the media elite were strong enough to withstand the allure of Sarah Palin's iconic "wedding hair on a weekday" coiffure.
Alas, they were not.
Couric was one of the first, and most visible victims, but others are popping up all over the place. Some expected, some feared, some beyond help. In the gallery, a who's who of Palin Up Do sufferers.

Wish I could post my pic. This do is nothing new to me and my ladies. Take a look at the Apostiolic Pentecostal woman and you will see that we have transformed the updo. We have made it classy and quite complicated at times. Having fun with our long hair is an art. And its so classy! Our men LOVE it, especially when we let itdown. Oh and same for the glasses. for those of us that wear them. They are a fashion statement. Go Sarah!

I believe it is perfectly ok for the Republican Party to give their candidates money for clothing. The Democratic Party probably did the same for the Obamas. If we can only allow those who are filthy rich to become candidates and look "Presidential" then our country is in worse shape than I thought. It is sad if a common person cannot aspire to the highest office in our nation without someone making snide remarks about how he/she paid for their clothes. What difference does it really make if it was within the party's budget????? Just one more disrespectful and distasteful dig at Governor Palin. May it backfire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went in and had mine trimmed to be more like Sarah's cut and asked to style it up in her way instead of a blow out and curl. My stylist said EVERYONE is asking for her shade, her cut, and her updo.
Last night someone said my hair looked "Palin-esque" and it made my night! You can call me Caribou Barbie any time!
I'm a Sarah-wannabe, alright! You betcha!
