Louis Vuitton patented diamonds - over the top luxury
Filed under: Accessories, Fashion, Runway Report
Buying designer diamonds is pretty low on our list of things to do these days -- paying rent, buying groceries and caulking our windows against high heating bills all rank higher. Obviously, we are not the target market for the new Louis Vuitton branded diamonds.
The luxury house is the latest to create and patent distinctively shaped diamonds. You can now buy a bracelet, earrings or a necklace made with diamonds that mirror the Louis Vuitton shapes you see on bags, scarves and other LV items.
The rounded flower and a pointed flower diamonds have between 61 and 77 facets which is dazzling. Louis Vuitton has never been an understated brand, and patented diamond cuts is a growing trend. So despite the outrageous cost of these multi-million dollar looks, we're sure that we'll be seeing these glittering LV shapes all over the place.
Who knows? Maybe we'll even shell out for a pair of CZ fakes, but in general we're feeling sort of anti-bling. These days it seems a lot more stylish to spend your extra multi-millions on an orphanage or something. Call it the Jolie effect.
Of course, even if they skip the diamonds, odds are we'll see Angelina and Zahara with matching LV bags. They're only human!
