Top designer Alexander McQueen comes to Target

Broke fashionistas everywhere, rejoice -- Alexander McQueen is coming to Target! The internationally renowned designer will be doing a line called McQ for the retail giant as part of a new program they're starting.
Because of the success of their Go International initiative, which brought such up and coming designers like Proenza Schouler, Luella Bartley, Behnaz Sarafpour, Rogan and Richard Chai to the masses, Target is starting another program called Designer Collaborations.
Designer Collaborations is similar to the Go International idea, except that the designers will be ones who are already established in the fashion industry rather than emerging designers -- and we are so excited! We can't wait to see what else Target has up it's sleeve and what other major designers will come on board!
The McQ line at Target will feature lightweight sweaters, skinny jeans, bubble dresses, slim skirts and cuffed shorts, amongst other items. We're drooling already -- McQueen's clothes are always beautifully tailored and usually feature great little details, especially belts. We've admired his taste for a long time now -- from afar -- being able to get our hands on Alexander's affordable, amazing fashion will be a dream come true!

Target is great for fashion and funky home stuff in general that looks like it cost a lot more. Their line of underwear, and staples like leggings are great too.
I shop online to save money on gas, use less gas and save money period. I shop at all my favorite stores through an online website that gives me the unpublished codes at about 300 stores (including Target, The Gap, Best Buy, Old Navy,
Drugstore.com, etc) as well as giving me between 5 and 50% back in cash on my purchases. The site is http://www.fatcrumbs.com I am being good to the environment and great to my wallet.

Skinny Jeans....here we go again looks like this new line of clothing will be targeted at the young once again. I guess won't be shopping at Targets for Clothes anymore!! Why do you have to fix something that's not broke go goodness sake. I'll focus my attention in that area to stores like Wal Mart and K-Mart no problem. This means I won't even bother to waste my time in any other department at Targets if the clothing is not geared to me because the clothing style and price is what brings me to Target to shop!

Thanks for your input. I work in the softlines department at Target and you are correct. We have a women's line called Mossimo Red for juniors who are pleasingly plump and this selection of clothing is very youthful. Also the Merona line is very nice for the women who have had children and are no longer considered juniors.

I know I will not give my grandaughters a Target gift certificate for Christmas if this is what they will buy.

Target is a nice store but I am older and a bit heavy (nice face, great personality, you know that one!!!!!) and I find their clothes are geared towards the younger girls; must be slim to wear their clothes. Do better at Dillards, Macy's or sales at N-M, Nordstrom. Refuse to pay the prices, so I wait for a sale. If only I could sew well, I'd have it made.

If you are decorating a dorm room, are your first apartment their items are great, If you wnat to break a leg try the shoes and if your over tweeny there are stores that welcome adults who have money to spend and clothes that fit. Next question I will be ask . No I'm not fat!

Yes, shopping at Target for plus size clothes makes you want to go on a DIET !!!!!!!!

So go on a diet? People complain about being fat, or heavy, but refuse to do anything about it. They diet for one week and give up if they didnt lose that 30 lbs in a week. It takes dedication and a complete lifestyle change. I'm living proof. At a very short 5'3", and I was at 150 lbs which is HUGE for my height, I have brought myself down to 130, however, it has taken me 4 years!!! And thats because I kept going back to a diet thats not healthy, and didnt stick to a dedicated exercise regimen. Stop complaining, get off your a$$es exercise and eat HEALTHY. The weight will come off if your dedicated enough. This is not geared towards Cindy, this is towards everyone complaining about being fat... Goodluck... I've got 15 or 20 more pounds to go. I just started back on my diet, and have been going 4 times a week to the gym. Strength training and cardio... AT LEAST an hour each visit... C'mon ladies.... WORK IT WORK IT!!!!!!!!
Fatty, fatty, fat fat 11-08-2008 @ 11:58AM
Im glad you fat women dont want to shop at Target and wont be back, tell your fat friends too, go to Walmart for your fat clothes, and dont forget to hit that candy aisle, oh what savings.

I received a gift card from there for Christmas last year... Because they have a plus department. Ive been told by many that I should be a plus size model, becasue Im not heavy, just large... My Chest measures 42" without "my goods" on top of it.. However, I had a child at 40,and packed on some pounds... The plus size department there looks like its made for old people.. If 40 is the new 30, I Still want to look great! A few extra pounds doesnt mean Im ugly, and I shouldnt have to wear ugly clothes. Their plus department needs some work! But I love the store! Jenn

Why all the harsh judgement? This article is about Alexander McQueen's clothing line for Target and not about the FAT vs. NON-FAT debate. I would love to see designers such as Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, Betsy Johnson, Roberto Cavalli , and Diane von Furstenburg participate. Heck maybe even plus size designer Marina Rinaldi can make a special line for Plus sized fashionistas?
The key thing is to be happy and HEALTHY no matter what your size is. Try to eat well , get plenty of rest, excercise, keep your stress level down and most importantly ENJOY LIFE !!

what a bunch of idiots on here ! LOL
Lord have mercy, I was just making a joke-saying shopping at Target makes you want to go on a diet ! LOL I was knocking their clothes, in case you girls were not 'bright' enough to get what I'm saying.
Diet tips? don't need any---I shop there for an Indian family I send things to--who are overweight, but thanks for the 'angry' advice. I am a size 7, don't need to lose weight --and that's for the idiot who responded by saying fatty fatty....
What a bunch of mean spirited girls on here....what goes around comes around. And by the way, I would never be caught DEAD wearing anything from Target--I have money, I don't wear CHEAP clothes. And that's for all of you without any class who can only afford to shop at Target.

"And that's for all of you without any class who can only afford to shop at Target. "
Class and money do not go hand in hand.
And why is everyone hating on a top designer, bringing his styles to Target? I thought it was cool, and I'm a guy. I wouldn't mind if Armani made a discounted line for Target.
