Miley Cyrus takes on diabetes
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity
Disney decided to cancel Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana episode on diabetes and she is not a happy camper. However, Miley knows there's more ways than one to skin a cat. She's fighting back in her own way to support the cause.
One of Miley's closest friends and for a while, rumored romantic interest, Nick Jonas, suffers from diabetes. So this is obviously something that's close to her heart and she was probably looking forward to doing a show about the issue. But, since Disney is no longer allowing that to happen, Miss Cyrus has taken matters into her own hands.
wall bottle. Now that's an interesting way to make a statement!

Disney pulled the episode because it was factually incorrect and somewhat dangerous. The entire episode revolved around keeping sugar and treats away from Oliver because he was a diabetic, when diabetic children can have these foods just like any other kid. Worse, if a diabetic child has low blood sugar, they *need* a sugary drink, and there's the possibility that airing this episode could cause a child from being denied access to sugar by their (well-meaning) peers.
I really like your blog, but please do some research on these stories before printing them.

hey
good comment.
But when you do get diabetes all things are explained to you in great detail and are also explained over and over again by nurses, doctors & ect.
trust me i know this. i have had diabetes nearly 6 years now and they still tell it me over and over again.

I have had juvenile diabetes for almost seventeen years. I moderately resent the "suffers from diabetes" comment. If you take proper care of yourself, there is absolutely nothing to suffer from.

I think that it is absolutely wonderful that Miley is taking a stand for diabetes!!! I have diabetes myself and it can be very stressful to deal with, so now since she is taking a stand more people we follow in her footsteps!!!

hey
i think this would be a great idea to do this show.
Seen as i have diabetes and have alot of trouble with it and it is always out of control.
I would love to see this "Hannah Montana" and i think it could even help me and millions of other kids that are in the same situation as me.
And also thank you Miley Cyrus for fighting to do this show.
