Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard at MoMa film benefit - StyleFoul!
Filed under: Celebrity, Hot or Not

(How did this happen? Click the photo to see the evolution of Peter's freaky face fuzz)
Maggie Gyllenhaal looked ethically questionable but gorgeous here, wearing a fox stole-looking item at a film benefit gala at the Museum of Modern Art on November 10, 2008 in New York City. She attended the event with her partner -- record scratch -- holy cripes, what the heck happened to Peter Sarsgaard?!
Every time we see Maggie she looks more and more beautiful. Meanwhile Peter has been on the express train to Phillip Seymour Hoffman-hood. And we don't mean that in the good, "talented actor" way.
Gone is the louche, slightly menacing, lean attractiveness of his earlier years, like in Boys Don't Cry, Garden State and even Jarhead.
In it's place: a jaw full of truly unfortunately facial fur. Dude, can't you groom that thing? Trim it? Or even better: Shave. It. Off!
Please let this be for a role. But even if it is: StyleFoul! So, so foul. Make it stop. Please, Peter. We're begging.

Oh my god...how can a good looking man make himself look so awefully ugly? Its amazing. And to think,he really thinks he looks good? Personally I cant stand to see anyone let his beard grow just wild without shaping it. ustin Timberlake is another one. And Maggie actually likes it?? Is sick and disgusting. I have a nice trimmed beard that I trim daily. I would never let it grow just where my folicles decide to make a showing!

It is a males preogative to wear facial hair anyway he see's plausible. It is not on your face ladies. Facial hair is a mascuine attribute and shows a sense of respect.

He is still a little cutie-pie as a Caveman. But he does look a lot better without the beard where we can see his cute face!
He will stay warmer for the winter now!!!

Well another example of people who wear dead animals and think they look good, and him well I bet there is a family living in there and nasty at that....actors and actresses have just to much money to waste on paying for people to kill animals for them to wear.....another actress off my list or should I say ON MY LIST! they wont see a penny of my money....

I agree leave the fur on the animals please, and yes boycotting actresses that support cruel actions towards those animals is a plus.

Come on, Cat Lincoln and you folks that are posting complaints about the man's beard. He is in a Broadway show that takes place in a period that calls for such facial hair. Really...

What ever happened to the simple Male, masculine talk, I don't want any bull about shoes and fussy lady wear, and lipstick. What happened to wearing clothes that make a man look like a man instead of a prissy little thing, clothes don't always make the Man. Even in Gay or Straight circles. Let men be men please. Don't be upstuck and snobby and judge everbody else, you have not walked in the other person's shoes. Also treat your fellow man with dignity, don't be a complete asshole and belittle others to be popular, that only shows what a true loouch, bastard loser someone is. Lets here it for being Americans all under the same Sky and Sun, and MOON at night.

Has it slipped anyone's mind, especially whoever wrote this article that he has a beard because he is doing Chekhov's 19th Century play The Seagull on Broadway right now?

Yes, lots of actors grow facial hair for parts played not just for preference which is ok too.

I personally don't understand women who don't like hairy men, or think it's gross. I would take a chest full of dark hair over the waxed, and shiny oiled look anyday. I'm not into guys that look like they are made of plastic. And, I LOVE beards. At least on men who can grow them properly. Some men can't grow a thick, full beard. I guess I just thnk that men a supposed to be hairy. Anyhow, it's his face. Oh yes, and before people attack the fur, are they certain that it is indeed real?
