Jennifer Hudson - Gap ad star
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Celebrity, News
The new Gap Holiday campaign is out, and surprisingly for some people, talented Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson stars in one of the ads, wearing a bright red wintersoft turtleneck. Despite the fact that Jennifer is currently in mourning for her mother, brother, and nephew, the victims of brutal murders, she gave the Gap the go ahead to use the images that were shot back in July.
On her myspace page Jennifer acknowledged all of love and prayer she's received from fans, thanking them for their continued support.
This will certainly be a difficult holiday season for Jennifer, and we add our voices to those who are reaching out to comfort her in this sad time. You're also welcome to share a message of hope for Jennifer in the comments.

I'm sad for Jennifer, too, but I can't understand why anyone with her kind of money had family living in the path of certain danger to begin with. The Englewood district on Chicago's south side is easily the most dangerous patch of real estate in the entire upper midwest and the location of most of the deaths that give Chicago the dubious distinction of being the current murder capital of the United Sttates.

When the murders first happened I seen a interview with some of the neighbors and they said that Jennifer Hudson tried to persude her mother to move but she wouldn't. My heart goes out to her, it's hard enough dealing with one death let alone 3.

It has been reported that Jennifer had asked her Mother to move to a nicer area but she had refused. It was her home and it is where she chose to stay. Crime happen's in Nice areas of town too. It's a matter of who you associate with and sometimes just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If you ready the history, you will see it stated early on, Jennifer begged her mother to move out of the neighborhood. But her mother wanted to remain in her familiar surrondings. She didn't want to capitalize off of Jennifer's fame and fortune, and she didn't want to forget where they came from

Aside from the fact that her family REFUSED to move, this was not a case of drug violence or random violence. it was DOMESTIC and happens in wealthy neighborhoods as well.
Violence occurs in every state... yes, street violence is higher in cities... but WHITE wealthy kids are the ones doing the school shootings at columbine, etc... what's your reasoning for them? Hmm?
There is no need for racist stereotypes and hate here.
Offer your support and/or condolences or say nothing.
My prayers are with Jennifer in the difficult months ahead.

If this person who did all this was known to the family it didn't matter where they were...they could have been in the best of areas and the same thing could have happened..and maybe her family didn't want to move.

I am sadden for Jennifer and her family. I pray for them. May God continue to be with them. It's my understanding that Jennifer's mother refused to leave her home in Chicago. Ms. Hudson tried to get her out of that area, but her mother wanted to remain in her home and in that neighborhood.

yes, Jennifer we are all sooo sorry all this has happened and we know how close you were. No one knows why things happen but it sure is hard to try to make any sense of any of it. Take each day one day at a time and try to remember all the good things and times you've all had together. Time will help heal but we know you will never forget.

Jennifer:
I am living with the death of three family members within eight months and it's hell. Small breakdowns, due to the fact that they were separated by months. All at one time, violently as were your families deaths, Lord, no one could help me through that. It would be a major breakdown. The anger of a normal death from say, cancer as one of my brothers died from lymphoma, is in the category of the stages of death. But with your family, I hope the person or persons responsible for those deaths receives the exact punishment to match the deed, or you will never feel redeemed. I am praying for you to find peace someday soon. So know that I partially feel your pain, but I know that there is no way to feel it as you and your poor soul are feeling right at this day and time. For you and yours, I pray for justice to help you through this time of life that no one should have to feel.

I'm sad for Jennifer too. What a horrible thing to have to go through and my thoughts and prayers go out to her and especially her sister. It was her sister's son who was murdered. However, it is very clear this tragedy was premeditated. A "message" or payback sent for something gone wrong, something stolen, maybe money??? Maybe drugs??? That doesn't matter but my point is, it probably didn't matter where they lived if someone was out to get them.

My prayers to Ms Hudson and all of her family. To Ms Hudson I say, yes, yes, yes. This is what your mother would have wanted you to do. Honor their memories, their lives, with your successes. You will do more, and help many more by doing so. So often, the media wants to be there to see you crash and burn... making it a public event. Well, I hope that they find the time to show you rising like a phoenix, rewened and restored by the inner strength possessed by the Phenomenal Woman that you are!!! God be with you, as He is with your family, as They, too, are with you. And always will be.

For those of you who question why her family was still living in a bad area, it's been reported time and time again that Jennifer wanted her mother to move, but she chose not to. And if the former brother-in-law is the murderer, which I'm sure he is, then this would have happened even if they lived in Beverly Hills.

i feel so sad for Ms. Hudson and her dear sister, they both lost a Mother and Brother but the sister lost a child also, it's not easy losing a child., but it doesn't matter where her family lived if it was the sisters husband that did it. It was not a random act just a no reason act. The creep should not have been released from prison,

I know what you are feeling Jennifer, I lost both my parents to violence at the same time and it was hard looking upon two caskets. I miss them and I know you will too. It is coming upon the anniversary of their death and it makes Christmas bitter sweet especially with this economy. Keep your faith and look to a higher source of comfort..... I did and always will.
