The Huxtable Effect

Chicago Sun Times writer Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez has dubbed it "The Huxtable Effect." "It" being the new generation of peeps that rose above racism and elected the first black president thanks to a little program called "The Cosby Show."
Valdes-Rodriguez says kids, who grew up from about 1985 – 1992, were so swamped with pop culture icons like the Cosby family that, in their minds, racism became a non-issue. The Huxtable clan was just like any other normal family and Mr. Huxtable himself reminded many viewers of their own "white" Dad.
Apparently that tie we all feel with the Huxtable's (and you know you do, don't lie), paved the way to an Obama win. Is the Huxtable Effect real or a hoax? You be the judge.
