Pants in Boots for Men - Yea or Nay?
Filed under: Accessories, Fashion, Runway Report, Stylish Living
When the pants tucked into boots look hit women's fashion a few years ago, it struck with a vengeance. Now, according to some urban trend-spotters, the look is starting to spread across the gender divide. As we've browsed through all the examples we could find, we can't seem to find any that look casual and smart. Instead, most of it really smacks of somebody who's trying too hard. Is this really a look that a man can wear on the street without getting made fun of?Judging to the positive responses we got to the mantyhose post, we're guessing that a lot of people will embrace the look. But, the more important question here is: does the boots outside pants look work for normal guys? And, how does one pull this look off?
As far as we can tell, the only way to wear these and not look overly metro-sexual is to pair some semi baggy jeans and Timberland boots. Yeah, it's kind of a hip hop look, and it goes against what the Times says to do, but it seems like the best way to keep from looking like your on the way to riding school.

Lets see - pant leg inside or outside the boot? Think about the sheep farmers. Inside the boot meant they had a place to stick th back legs during those lonely nights in the field. No self-respecting "man" would dare wear the pants inside the boot, fearing his buddies would figure out what he was doing while watching the flock.

Maybe we are a bit too rural, but the only people who tuck pant legs into boots are either trying to keep mud & sh*t out off their pants, or they are indeed seducing unsuspecting farm critters. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. If this does become a huge fashion, Key & Dickies should look into changing their marketing scheme to promote the faded/vertical striped bibs. Who knows...they may be sitting on a gold mine!

Ok for one when did this style become metro sexual because as far as I knew Metal heads and skinheads started this fashion way back in the 80's and let me tell ya they werent metrosexual. And for it to look good u have to wear timberlands or combat boots not any others. And if u look back at the style of hip hop and rap they have been stealing fashion trends from rock and metal heads and skinheads for a long long time. Look at Doc Martins and leather biker jackets all first worn by skinheads and metal heads and greasers. It seems like for things that hip hop and rap artists dislike so much about metal heads they do love stealing the fashion

Just another assault on the senses. Can't see pants tucked into your boots when they're (the pants) down around your knees to begin with.

Please. Is there anyone out this with some fashion sense. I am so tired of trying to determine which men are bums and which are not. Get some clothes that fit.

The only time I have tried to do this is when I am trying to keep snow or mud from getting inside the pants leg. Otherwise I wear my pants outside my boots. In fact, when I was in the Air Force we bloused our boots outside the boots. This was done by hooking a small elastic band together and tucking the pants around that. This had many benifits including the job of keeping bugs from climbing up the pants leg.

i think they should stick their pants leg up their butts, if they're doing it for fasion and not for neccesity...get over it and go to work...we don't need wankers like calvin klein telling us how to dress!

Why not? I see many morons wearing their pants below their asses. Mopst people think it's sexy. These guys are only trying to attract gays. This is the way our country is being run and will continue to be run. THE LAWS AND THE cONSTITUTION MEAN NOTHING ANYMORE. I pity whats in store for my grandchildren.
