Michelle Gets $30,000 Ring as Thank You Gift From Barack - Rumor Mill

Some of you are probably already thinking: after all the controversies along the campaign trail about extravagant shoes and outrageous clothing budgets, is it possible that the Obamas would turn around and do something that's so seemingly 'out of touch?' Well, anything is possible -- and you know that Michelle probably deserves a $30,000 Giovanni Bosco ring for putting up with her husband's nearly 2-year presidential campaign. But we kinda doubt it. And Team Obama is completely denying it.According to reports, Italian luxury designer Giovanni Bosco's firm was contacted about producing a "Harmony" ring as a way to say 'thanks for putting up with me,' in time for Barack's January inauguration ceremony. The ring in question is made of the precious metal rhodium -- which goes for about $7,660 per ounce -- and is decked out in diamonds. For a total price that's somewhere in the ballpark of $30,000.
Is it a publicity stunt? It's hard to say exactly what is going on here. Is it that outlandish to think that Obama might have contacted a Giovanni Bosco rep to inquire about a gift? From a Giovanni Bosco representative quoted in the Daily Mail:
"Our agent in the United States was asked by Mr Barack Obama about the ring because he wants it as a thank you gift for his wife Michelle for her support the last two years... It is our top of the range piece and made from rhodium and encrusted with diamonds."[via Luxist]

It's his business if he wants to buy the ring for His wife, that means he loves her very much. You go Barack

Why the hell would he buy a ring from an Italian jewelry designer, when there are plenty of great jewelry designers in the U.S.A.?Doesn't he know that our country is in a recession?Or does he not care, just like all the other politicians?

I voted for John McCain. However, from what I have seen so far, the president-elect is doing a pretty good job. Whether or not he buys his wife a $30,000 ring is none of anyone's business. He is entitled to spend his hard earned money any way he wants just like the rest of us. Frankly, she does deserve a special gift for all that she has put up with on the campaign trail and for what she is going to have to put up for the next 4 or 8 years. If $30,000 is within his means, then so be it. Really, what's the difference in buying your wife a $30,000 ring that you CAN afford and someone else buying a $30,000 car for their spouse when they CAN'T afford to pay cash for it???
Go for it president-elect Obama!!

Probably because it's just another invented pseudo-Fox-news report from the right wing propoganda machine. Fair and balanced -- I've got a bridge to sell anyone who believes that.
