What to Wear to a Concert, Winter '08 Edition - Tip of the Day!

Filed under: Fashion, Best of the Season, How to Wear

coldplayWe were recently able to catch a Coldplay concert in Philly. As usual, we eyeballed everyone's ensembles and we loved how the looks were so similar to those in the summer (leggings and bright colors) but were slightly tweaked for the fall. Wedges and short skirts were traded in for fuzzy boots and tunics. Braids were all the rage. And we learned that wearing the t-shirt of the band is so not cool. Read on for tips on what to wear this concert season.

Concert Do's

• Leggings, leggings, leggings!

• Ankle boots or fuzzy winter boots over your leggings.

• Converse All Stars. They're baaack!

• Tunics in bright colors like purple, hot pink or yellow.

• Big doorknocker or hoop earrings.

• Braids and Nicole Richie style headbands. The more boho the better.

• Easy, breezy makeup. (Neutrals or golden glows were popular.)

Concert Don'ts

• Super high heels.

• Wearing the band t-shirt at the venue.

• Tailgating when it's freezing. Hang out at the bar inside instead!

• Being a wallflower or worse, not knowing the lyrics.

• Overdoing it in the hair, makeup, or wardrobe departments.

PS – Coldplay is awesomeness in concert. See them if you can because apparently they're calling it quits in the next few years (do we smell a Jay-Z style "retirement?")!
