Etsy.com Fashion Illustrators We Adore

Filed under: Haute Home, Stores We Love, Fashion, Designers & Brands

kjsdesign print from Etsy.comWe love fashion illustration almost as much as the real thing. (Sometimes even more.) And because so few people realize what a treasure trove of excellent fashion art is available on Etsy.com, we wanted to share some of our favorite gems.

We scoured the site's offerings and handpicked our very favorite fashion illustrators of the bunch. From cutting-edge to retro, these artists capture all the fantasy and fun of the fashion world, and their prints are a steal at prices from $5 - $250. (Leaving you money to spend on clothes, of course.)

-mycharliegirl: Inspired by model/muses like Gisele and Claudia Schiffer, Bec Winnel captures her high-fashion subjects in ethereal, washed-out colors that resemble the dreamy tones of 1970s photographs. ($5-30 for standard and limited-edition prints)

-matouenpeluche: Samantha Battersby's love of all things art deco shines through in her bold, 1920s-inspired fashion illustrations, which feature women with Veronica Lake waves and dark-lipsticked cupid's bows. ($5.50-$15.00 for most prints)

-kjsdesign: Kelly Smith creates pencil and watercolor images that looked like they stepped straight out of the pages of Nylon. Her illustrations of runway looks from the likes of Nina Ricci and John Galliano use splashes of color against a primarily gray palette and lots of white space. ($24-100 for original and limited-edition prints).

-kellythompson: Photographer and illustrator Kelly Thompson brings an avant-garde edge to her high-fashion renderings. From Beth Ditto, lead singer of The Gossip, to provocative nudes, Thompson's eye for off-kilter beauty and commitment to limited-run prints make her pieces extra-special. ($100-250, with most works limited to 10 prints)

-brooklit: Manhattanite Brooke Hagel is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, and her subjects look just like the well-heeled women you'd expect to populate any New York cocktail party. She's inspired by films, friends and fashion history, and her drawings look like they've been swiped from the desks of our fave designers. ($20 for most prints)
