Duarte No. Q65: High-Drama Basics that Won't Break the Bank

Filed under: Clothing, Fashion, Best of the Season

henry duarte no 65 lookbookAfter decades in the fashion game -- and numerous reinventions of his brand -- designer Henry Duarte still hasn't strayed from his signature look. (His new collection, Duarte No. Q65, is proof of that.)

A long-time style consultant for the likes of Lenny Kravitz and The Smashing Pumpkins, Duarte first earned fashion fame with a line of rock-and-roll jeans that carried price tags to the tune of $450 and became a celeb favorite.

But now, with Daurte No. Q65, he brings a Gothic edge to silhouettes that are reminiscent of Japanese designers like Yohji Yamamoto.

The current collection is full of menswear-inspired pieces in wool, cotton and leather. There's a thoughtful balance between sharp tailoring and loose, billowing shapes, ensuring that no piece feels too trend-dependent.

We especially love the leather cape and paper-thin tees, and while each item in the line is a showstopper, the neutral color palette and simplicity of the shapes put them firmly in the "classic" category. Considering that most items range from $70-$275, we predict the cost-per-wear of these timeless pieces to be remarkably low.
