We recently chatted with the incredibly talented designer David Grieco of Justice Bodan, an accessories line for men and women which combines his original sculpted metal pieces with fine Italian leather belts, handbags, and more.

What inspires your work? I am inspired by people and their traditions. The way we all live and how different it may seem but how very similar we all are. I study nature's texture and how time creates emotion in form. I have always wanted to create pieces that inspire others in their life.



Who are your favorite designers? My favorite designers are Maison Martin Margiela and Alexander McQueen. Both of these designers have an amazing energy that I believe inspires change and individuality.

What are your top fashion, beauty, accessory or art must-haves? When I look to the must have pieces in a collection, I look very hard for hand crafted pieces. Cydwoq shoes, vintage Levis, vintage jewelry, an Alexander McQueen tweed overcoat, a Bob Dylan poem on a bar napkin framed, and Stanislav Szukalski sculpture.

Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? If you have it in your heart to create what you feel and see, learn to follow through with your passion, no matter what, realize your goals are places you take yourself. Never put time in the way, see what you want from your life and decide what you want to do and remember once you have made the first step the hard part is over.

There is something to learn everywhere and so many people going after their dream, don't forget to help others and be there for those willing to teach. Learn something about what you do everyday, and never forget anyone and always take notes along the way. Before you know it you will have your first season sketched out.
