Her line, Something Blue, features bridal jewelry, hairpieces and tiaras, as well as beautiful jewelry designs for everyday wear.

Tell us a little about yourself and your work. My name is Angela Schade. I live in Southern California, and I have been making jewelry and selling it since I was 12 years old (and that's a LONG time now!). I studied metalsmithing in Pasadena, CA, Penland, NC and London, England. I have an almost 3 year old daughter who loves to spend time in my studio with me playing with the "sparklies" - which can be challenging at times, but so much fun!

How did you get started as a designer? I was studying to be a graphic designer and during a lunch break I stumbled across the jewelry studio. I was completely enthralled by what I saw and the next semester was all about jewelry (and I never looked back).

What inspires your work? Nature, vintage, other artists...

Who are your favorite designers? My favorite jewelry designers: Cathy Waterman, Gabrielle Sanchez, Georg Jensen, Bulgari just to name a few. Designers in general, Diane Von Furstenberg, Helmut Lang...

What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? Fantastic eye cream (I like the Boots line). A great pair of black leather boots. Cashmere.

Where can people find your work? In the UK at Bloomsbury in Bath and The Accessory Boutique. In the US at Camille de Pedrini in South Pasadena, Leonora Moss in Sierra Madre, and on Etsy, of course! [You can find a full list of stores carrying Something Blue at somethingbluebride.com.]
