As much as we admire a chic, sexy stiletto, a new report has us giving our choice of footwear some thought. Reportedly, Los Angeles purse snatchers are going after ladies wearing high heels because they're unlikely to be able to run. And yes, we know some women are able to hit a fairly decent speed in four inch heels (Sarah Jessica Parker, we're talking about you), the truth is, most of us are considerably slower in stilettos.

Even more at risk of getting mugged were women who were tottering on heels while carrying a bunch of shopping bags. We could've used that advice before the holiday shopping season!

So what's a stylish girl to do? If you're walking alone, it's not a bad idea to wear shoes you can move in. And, consider keeping a pair of flats in your car or at work, so if something comes up spur of the moment, you still have the option to change shoes.
