Plush Toys Finally Become Awesome - Fuzzy Skulls
Want to turn your boring old couch into a skull filled, dungeon-esque fantasy world without losing the comfort of those soft throw pillows? For many goth kids, metal heads, and people with a strangely morbid sense of humor, there is only one answer -- the plush skull by the amazing plush toy artist Lana Crooks. She's the creator of a number of plush toy masterpieces, but she's apparently finding out that the plush skull has some kind of universal appeal.
We've never seen an artist so seamless combine the horror of a decaying skull with the cuteness of a stuffed animal. Of course, that might be because we've never really seen one try before.
Still, there's apparently something that's attracting people to the plush skull. To quote that guy on Mad Men, we think it most be a result of humanity's inherent death wish. Never mind, that's way too philosophical for a home accessory this cool.
Evidently the 10in. tall skull has become one of Crooks' most popular orders. That's why she's holding a contest in conjunction with ToyCyte to come up with a name that's as unique as the skull. She'll be naming a winner on January 19th, so all submissions must be in by 12 noon on Sunday the 18th. Check it out.
Winner gets one of these babies. Losers will have to order one.
