Celine Cancels March Presentation

celine spring '09Lord, take us higher! Just when we were starting to get up off of the ground -- the announcement that Peter Som will not be presenting next month at Bryant Park did a number on us -- the news wires are already beginning to buzz about another major player pulling out of Fashion Week.

Word has it that Phoebe Philo's first presentation for the house of Celine has been canceled indefinitely. Surprising, considering editorial exclusives -- such as a feature in the March issue of Vogue -- had already been booked as of December 2008.

Reportedly, the show cancellation has to do with Philo clashing heads with LVMH management, who own the Parisian label. Nonetheless, Celine is downplaying the situation telling FWD, "Phoebe's debut show will be in October, as has always been planned and we are as excited as ever for Celine's partnership with Phoebe Philo."

Hmm. This should be interesting.
