Beija-Flor - Designer Jeans That Fit Everyone
Filed under: Clothing, Jeans, Fashion, Best of the Season, Denim
Admit it: trying on jeans makes you cry. Us, too. In fact, we believe that stores that sell jeans or bridesmaid dresses -- but especially jeans -- should have tissue dispensers in the dressing rooms.Designer jeans are the worst, mostly made for those tall, skinny, model-shaped
Created by the mother daughter team of Kathy Moça and Emilie Whitaker, Beija-Flor are designed with the idea of looking good on "average" bodies. They are cut to flatter your hips, thighs, behind and belly. What a concept!
The waist band is contoured, so it doesn't gap open, or just as bad, cut you in half. The pockets are shaped to make your backside look good, and the fabric stretches, but it's not overly clingy -- it keeps its shape, while moving with you.
And maybe we're lazy, or just bad at math, but we always fumble over those 22-34 sizes used by so many designer jeans. We appreciate that Beija-Flor comes in sizes 0-16. Thank you, we understand those numbers.
Celebrities like Lisa Rinna and Rachel Ray love Beija-Flor, which is Portuguese for hummingbird, and literally means "kiss the flower". The most popular style is the Jennifer, a classic five pocket, boot cut.
Other Beija-Flor styles include the Allison, touted as "the perfect weekend jean" and the Ellen, aka "the most flattering white jeans ever" which we are ready to believe, based on how good the other styles look!

Jeans have become a perennial and much loved form of clothing for all
ages and sexes. They ve also evolved in the same way that fashion
has, so its now possible to find an array of jeans in different
styles, from skinny jeans, slim and straightleg, to bootcut, wideleg,
kick flare and cropped.
These different cuts of jeans all produce a slightly different look
when worn.
