Today's featured indie artist is JLady Designs. Joyce Mayer creates handcrafted fused glass dichroic jewelry, pendants and earrings all from her home studio in Las Vegas. She says she fell in love with fused glass just over a year ago, but we're already in love with these colorful, unique designs.

Tell us a little about yourself and your work. I am a 47 year old female and I create fused glass pendants and earrings. I love using bright colors and making unusual shapes.

How did you get started as a designer? I first started making beaded necklaces and earrings as I was shopping for beads, I came across fused glass pendants and decided I wanted to specialize in fused glass.

Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? Do what you love and experiment with different techniques and eventually you will find your niche.

What inspires your work? I am inspired by music, my favorite singer is Stevie Nicks, I have named most of my pieces after her music.

What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? I love jeans (wear them every day) and then having many shirts and tops to wear with my jeans and of course jewelry.
