OK, knitting fanatics, here is your Olympic sport. It's a video game being produced for your Wii console that actually makes knitting look like an fun hobby for people with a normal entertainment quotient. That's right, we're saying that knitting is boring. Or, actually, we're saying it's not boring anymore. Whatever. If you've been looking for a chance to knit competitively and yet not produce any socks or scarves -- this game is for you.

You may want to hold back some of your outpouring of enthusiasm, since there doesn't appear to be any concrete release date for this game. We can imagine that developing a game that's predicated on the art of knitting is time consuming -- and certainly hard to market to potential distributors.For those who were hoping that this game would teach you to actually knit articles of clothing, we're thinking: fat chance. It probably prepares you to knit a garment as well as Guitar Hero trains you to play Ace of Spades. Still, it's pretty neato.
