Mix Your Makeup, Literally - Tip of the Day!
Filed under: Fashion, Beauty, Makeup, How to Wear
Although we don't like to "copycat," a recent article in InStyle left us no choice. The article entitled "Mix Up Your Makeup" in the January issue put us in experimentation mode for days. Learn how you can, literally, muddle your makeup (ie: blend blush and balm for shimmery lip gloss) to create fresh, new palettes for spring.
Here are some of our favorite highlights from the InStyle article.
Shimmery Lip Color
Break ½ inch piece of pressed powder blush and, in a small container, mix it with a quarter sized chunk of lip balm. Add balm until you create your ideal texture.
Coral Polish
Grab last summer's trendy yellow nail color remnants and add it, drop by drop, into your favorite red until you get the custom coral you want.
Lighter Foundation for Pale, Winter Skin
Dab the amount of foundation you'd normally use onto the back of your hand. Squeeze a quarter sized splotch of white sunscreen onto the foundation. Voila! Foundation that's two shades lighter and sun protection.
8 Hour Blush
Grab your favorite longwear lipstick and dab it onto the back of your hand. With a clean finger, take a dot of moisturizer and blend it so that the mixture becomes opaque (not totally sheer). Dab on cheeks and lips for a gorgeous, monochromatic flush.
